Standard Process Journal, Day 21

We did it! We completed the 21-day Standard Process cleanse! Although I didn’t do it to lose weight, I did conveniently lose 13 lbs. And I feel great.

What did you eat today yesterday?

Breakfast. None.

Lunch. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, 2 scoops of Whey Pro Complete, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. (Cracked 5 SP Green Food capsules open into the shake.) 2 Tuna Omega-3 Oil perles.

Dinner. Leftover spinach salad with seasoned ground turkey. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, 2 scoops of Whey Pro Complete, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. (Cracked 5 SP Green Food capsules open into the shake.) 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Other. Pomegranate seeds and blueberries.

How are you feeling? Normal.

Did you experience any physical effects? No.

Are you doing any other purification techniques? No.

Exercise: Walked for 20 minutes.

Standard Process Journal, Day 20

Two days left. I learned something import on day 20 of the 21-day Standard Process cleanse: this detox works fine with mild exercise, NOT strenuous exercise. I set out for the summit of Mt Wilson, and I barely made it (about 8 miles from where I parked). When I got to the top, I had to get some food, but I was able to stick to the detox for the most part with only a little cheat.

What did you eat today yesterday?

Breakfast. None. (Should have made a shake before I left.)

Lunch. A “cosmic salad” from the cafe at the top of Mt Wilson, along with a chili dog with no bun.

Dinner. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, 2 scoops of Whey Pro Complete, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. (Cracked 5 SP Green Food capsules open into the shake.) Spinach salad with seasoned ground turkey, tomato, onion, bell pepper, and avocado. 5 SP Green Food capsules. 2 Tuna Omega-3 Oil perles.

Other. Several sweetheart oranges, a banana, an apple, a peach, and a nectarine.

How are you feeling? Normal.

Did you experience any physical effects? No.

Exercise: About 16 miles of hiking with several thousand feet of elevation gain.

Standard Process Journal, Day 19

Well, today (day 19 of the 21-day Standard Process cleanse if you’re following) had a bit of a cheat. I had the privilege to spend the afternoon with an old Bible professor of mine and his wife. They surprised me with a dinner which was delicious, and which I would have felt awful to turn down.

What did you eat today two days ago?

Breakfast. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, 2 scoops of Whey Pro Complete, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Lunch. Missed lunch today. :-(

Dinner. Hamburger with fries and a fruit salad. Dessert (ice cream and some kind of cake). SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, 2 scoops of Whey Pro Complete, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 2 Tuna Omega-3 Oil perles.

Other. None.

How are you feeling? Normal.

Day 18 of the 21-day Standard Process cleanse. Forgot to take my green food supplements in the evening again, and I think I can feel it. But only 3 more days to go!

What did you eat today yesterday?

Breakfast. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, 2 scoops of Whey Pro Complete, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 5 SP Green Food capsules. 2 Tuna Omega-3 Oil perles.

Lunch. Roasted chicken thigh and leg with eggplant-veggie mix and broccoli.

Dinner. Spinach salad with strawberries, coconut, almonds, lime, olive oil, and some honey. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, 2 scoops of Whey Pro Complete, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber.

Other. Blackberries.

Day 17 of the 21-day Standard Process cleanse. Almost there! Forgot to take some of our supplements last night.

What did you eat today yesterday?

Breakfast. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Lunch. Mixed green salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, and onions.

Dinner. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, 2 scoops of Whey Pro Complete, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. Rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods, broccoli, roasted zucchini, and roasted sweet potatoes.

Other. Rasberries and blackberries.

How are you feeling? Energetic.

Did you experience any physical effects? No.

Are you doing any other purification techniques? No, but I did visit the chiropractor. :-)

Sorry – I missed my journal entry yesterday. Two days ago, we completed day 16 of our 21-day Standard Process cleanse. Things are moving along nicely, though I do keep craving pizza and beer. :-)

What did you eat today two days ago?

Breakfast. 3 over-easy eggs. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Lunch. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber.

Dinner. Mixed green salad with strawberries, coconut, and almonds. Salmon with cauliflower and broccoli fautatoes. 5 SP Green Food capsules. 2 Tuna Omega-3 Oil perles.

Other. Apple and strawberries.

How are you feeling? Energetic.

Yesterday we finished day 15 of our 21-day Standard Process cleanse. It’s hard to believe we’re on the homestretch. While we continue to stick to the rules, I’ve noticed that I’m not eating as many green vegetables as I would like. In particular, we need to eat more vegetables in the morning.

What did you eat today yesterday?

Breakfast. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Lunch. 3 over-easy eggs. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber.

Dinner. Mixed green salad with carrots and zucchini. A lean, grass-fed rib-eye steak with cauliflower mash and grilled veggies (asparagus, red bell peppers, and onions). 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Other. Strawberries.

No cheating yesterday (unlike the day before). Day 14 of our 21-day Standard Process cleanse was surprisingly easy, though my stomach did react a little bit to the previous day’s beer & burger cheat.

What did you eat today yesterday?

Breakfast. 1 over-easy egg. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 5 SP Green Food capsules. 2 Tuna Omega-3 Oil perles.

Lunch. Left-over chicken soup. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber.

Dinner. Spinach salad with strawberries, coconut, and almonds. 8 oz. top-sirloin filet with roasted sweet potatoes and garlic green beans. 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Other. An apple and blueberries.

This is a bit late in posting. Two days ago was day 13 of the 21-day Standard Process cleanse. This was a big cheat day, but a big cheat day I planned in advance. It was the kick-off to LA Beer Week, with over 75 breweries represented. How could I not cheat? 😉

What did you eat today two days ago?

Breakfast. 2 over-easy eggs. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Lunch. Grass-fed, chipotle burger with sweet potato chips from the Green Truck.

Dinner. Homemade chicken soup with left over bone broth. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber.

Other. A peach, an apple, lots of beer (60 oz.?), and half an order of french fries.

How are you feeling? Energetic.

Well, Anna and I breezed through day 12 of our 21-day Standard Process cleanse. Nothing special to report except that we attended a little graduation event and had to pick up some ready-made food from Whole Foods rather than eat the pizza at the party. I think one of the dishes had canola oil in it, so I guess that was a bit of a cheat.

What did you eat today yesterday?

Breakfast. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber. 5 SP Green Food capsules.

Lunch. SP Complete shake, with 1 cup of fruit, and 1 scoop of Whole Food Fiber.

Dinner. 1/2 of a rosemary chicken breast, some beef fajitas, cabbage salad, strawberry kale salad, and brussels sprouts. All prepared by Whole Foods.

Other. Some kale chips, a plum, a pluot, and strawberries. Also had 2 over-easy eggs in the middle of the day for some protein.
